In
August 2015, the Sobrato Family Foundation awarded Sequoia District
Adult School a generous $58,000 grant for Project TACC (Transitional
Advising for College and Career). This brand new program prepares
English Language Learner (ELL) students in the High School Equivalency
(HSE) and High School Diploma (HSD) programs to transition to community
college and/or career training and career pathways. The objective is to
enroll graduates in pathways that improve their employability and lead
them to economic self-sufficiency. Objectives also include creating an
environment in which students realize they are capable of attending
college or more advanced career and technical training, providing the
wrap-around support they need to transition into such training, as well
as monitoring their progress along their pathways.
